It’s still the early stages of the “Will LeBron get traded?” saga.
And while that’s true, it’s also true that some teams are already checking in to see what’s going on.
LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin that four teams have already checked in with him about a possible deal.
“He told me that he has not had any discussion with the Lakers about wanting a trade,” McMenamin said Monday night. “He did say that four teams have contacted him in the last 24 hours wanting to talk trades, but Rich didn’t have any substantive conversations with those teams, either.”

That makes it sound like a very slow developing situation, but it is notable that teams have checked in.
McMenamin did not name any of the four teams.
The James trade speculation has stemmed from comments made by Paul after James opted-in to his player option for 2025-26.
There was a suggestion that, if the Lakers don’t nail the rest of their offseason moves, James could consider finding the best possible contender somewhere else.
It also could just be a move to put pressure on L.A. without any real intent of leaving.
But it’s clear that the rest of the NBA is watching closely, either to acquire LeBron themselves or to learn what’s going to happen, wondering just like the rest of us where one of the greatest players ever might end up.
