Lakers’ LeBron James makes announcement on whether he will play in 2028 Olympics

Some of the teams the United States put together for the USA men’s basketball team were criticized by the public.

NBA legend Lebron James took that to heart and decided to begin recruiting the best of the best to play for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics.

Finally, the team consisted of legends, some of the greatest players the country has produced. This resulted in the USA taking home gold, just like James did in 2012.

Now, Lebron opened up about the future, his plans for the 2028 Olympics, and whether or not he will be a part of the team.

“I would say that, me being able to support Team USA for the rest of my life — that’s for sure. But me actually going on and playing, I don’t see it happening,” James told the Hollywood Reporter on Monday.

Despite the hesitance to suit up, James still plans to be connected.

“I’ve given everything that I have, and I will always be appreciative and loyal and dedicated to Team USA and USA Basketball.”

James is one of the most historic players in USA Basketball history. Last summer, he was even chosen from all USA athletes, not just basketball, to be the flag bearer at the Olympic opening ceremony.

In his career with Team USA, James has played in 79 games and contributed 1,137 points.

When the time comes in 2028, it will be weird not seeing the king on the court.
