The Golden State Warriors have had a conflicting offseason, trying to ship out restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga while also somehow trying to put together the super team of the century.
Though the Los Angeles Lakers don’t necessarily have plans to give him away, the Warriors have been in hot talks to try and add LeBron James to the team, despite James turning 41 in December.
And according to one Lakers insider, the Warriors could just be trying to pull the rug out from under everyone.
Warriors Just Trying To Do Something?
According to Lakers insider Jovan Buha, he believes that the rumors of LeBron joining the Warriors came from Golden State’s side of things, trying to make something good out of the situation they currently have with Jonathan Kuminga.
“I would assume this came out from the Warriors side,” Buha said. “They’ve had a rough summer. They have not been able to make any moves because of this Kuminga situation. It’s been drama-filled, but also stagnant at the same time…But it also benefits the Warriors to make their front office, their organization, look like they’re trying to do something.”
The Warriors have been involved with talks about landing the 21-time All-Star since all the way back in the 2024 trade deadline, but as of now, especially with Luka Doncic now on the team, it seems that “The King” is perfectly fine on his throne in Los Angeles as of now.
