Fresh off getting the party started with the first of Real Madrid’s goals in a 3-0 Intercontinental Cup-clinching win over Pachuca, Kylian Mbappe spoke about Real Madrid’s past as well as its present.
The success continued a strong haul of silverware for Los Blancos as of late, and cemented head coach Carlo Ancelotti as their most successful boss.
Mbappe has had a topsy-turvy start to life at the Bernabeu, but his role in the win on Wednesday continued his tremendous knack for hitting peak form during championship-clinching matches.
And when asked about players he wished he could have played alongside at one point in a post-match question, Mbappe waxed philosophical.
Mbappe names Cristiano Ronaldo as dream team-mate
“I’ve played with great players: Messi, Neymar, Griezmann, Pogba, Benzema,” admitted the Frenchman, before continuing: “it would have been fun to play with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

On the topic of it still being a possibility, given Ronaldo is still playing despite turning 40 in February, Mbappe responded: “It’s going to be very complicated now.
“But I was lucky to play against him, a legend of the sport.”
Mbappe wishes he played alongside Zidane
Kylian also namedropped an all-time great who won it all at Real as both a player and a coach, as someone he wished he could have called a teammate.
“I would say Zinedine Zidane,” said the 25-year-old.

Mbappe: I would have stayed at PSG
He also eradicated suggestions that Liverpool were competition for his signature before he ultimately went to Spain, by insisting he would have remained at Paris Saint-Germain if not recruited by Ancelotti.
“I went to the biggest club in the world,” insists Mbappe.
“I’ve always said it was the only club I would have left PSG for.
“If I hadn’t been able to go to Real Madrid, I would have stayed at PSG all my life.”
