Kylian Mbappe finally broke his silence on PSG’s historic UEFA Champions League win, just a year after he left the club.
Speaking ahead of France’s Nations League third-place match against Germany in Stuttgart, the Real Madrid forward addressed the title that had long eluded him during his time in Paris.
“I didn’t leave too soon; my story with PSG was over. I am not bitter; I had reached the end of the road,” Mbappé said during the press conference.
PSG defeated Inter Milan 5-0 to clinch their first Champions League title in Munich on May 31; it was a night of dominance for Luis Enrique’s men, one Mbappe watched from afar after joining Real Madrid in 2024.
“I tried everything, and it was destiny that meant it had to happen without me,” he admitted.
“PSG winning the Champions League without me doesn’t affect me. I was happy; I think they deserved it.”

Mbappe has scored 43 goals for Real Madrid this season, but the Spanish club ended the 2024/25 campaign trophyless, finishing second in La Liga, losing the Copa del Rey final to Barcelona, and exiting in the Champions League quarterfinal to Arsenal.
“They’ve had so many years where they struggled. I’ve been there too; I’ve played in every Champions League stage in Paris except for the victory.
Mbappé added. “They’re the best team in Europe. I don’t remember seeing a team win 5-0 in a major final.”
Despite falling short in Madrid, Mbappe continues to chase European glory. For now, he says he holds no regrets.
