Kyle Walker has shared with his fans a disturbing insight into the sort of messages he and other public figures receive, the full-back having been subjected to threats with a racist tone following Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League defeat to Juventus.
City are in unheard-of form with just one win in well over a month, and the 2-0 reverse to the Italian giants has damaged their chances of qualifying from the first-ever ‘league stage’ format of the tournament Pep Guardiola’s side won in 2023.

Kyle Walker exposes racism sent to him on social media
Walker has won it all at City but was understandably furious at some of the responses to the recent defeat as he shared the graphic details on social media.
“No one should ever be subjected to the sort of vile, racist and threatening abuse I have received online since last night’s match,” Walker wrote on his X and Instagram accounts alongside a screenshot of an abusive message he received.
“Instagram and the authorities need to stop this happening for the sake of all who are suffering this abuse. It is never acceptable.
“To our fans, we will continue to work as a team to do better, to improve and to turn the corner together.”

“We will be offering Kyle our full support following the disgusting treatment he has received.”
