Knicks vs. Pacers Game 6 final score, results: Indiana clinches NBA Finals berth with dominant second half vs. New York

For the second time in franchise history, the Pacers are going to the NBA Finals.

Entering Game 6 with a second chance to close out the Knicks, Indiana successfully prevented a Game 7 as Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam led the team to a commanding 125-108 victory.

The game was close in the first half, as neither side had a lead more than six points in the first 24 minutes. Siakam was the best player on the floor to begin the game, scoring 16 points in the first half to surpass his entire Game 5 margin.

The Knicks kept things close thanks to OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges, who played well while Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony-Towns started slowly. Indiana had a 58-54 lead at half, but New York probably felt good knowing Brunson had yet to get going.

In the second half, however, the Pacers pulled away as Haliburton kicked into gear and Indiana outscored the Knicks 67-54. The Pacers point guard ended the game with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists, with 11 of his 21 points coming in the fourth quarter, bouncing back from a quiet Game 5.

It was Siakam, though, whose 31 points helped him earn Eastern Conference Finals MVP honors, as he had at least 30 points in three of the four Pacers victories. Indiana will now play a fierce Thunder team in the NBA Finals beginning on Thursday night.

Brunson, after a tremendous Game 5, had his worst statistical game of the series as the Pacers’ defense was at its best. Andrew Nembhard had six steals on the night, while Brunson scored just 19 points on 18 shots.

As for the rest of New York, Anunoby and Bridges were the team’s two best players, while Towns had a double-double but struggled again defensively. In the end, New York’s season ends in disappointment, but with every big piece set to return next year.
