The New York Knicks are in an interesting spot ahead of next season and could still make a big move.
Going into the 2025-26 season, the Knicks are expected to be among the top contenders in the East. Following their first conference finals run in 25 years, expectations have only risen for the Knicks, making every move vital to their success.
This offseason, the Knicks have mostly decided to keep their roster the same, with some minor free agency additions. While Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele could be the lone pieces missing for the Knicks, one more addition could push them over the top.
Another sharpshooter in the Garden?
On Friday, the NBA’s free agency landscape changed dramatically when Malik Beasley was announced as no longer being the target of a federal gambling investigation. While Beasley isn’t 100% in the clear yet, he is likely in a position to get back into the free agency game.
After averaging 16.3 points and hitting the second-most threes in the league last season with the Detroit Pistons, Beasley would have been one of the hottest names on the market earlier this summer. With the market partially dried up, CBS Sports’ Robby Kalland recently noted the Knicks as a potential option.
With Kalland noting that the Knicks can’t offer Beasley much, a sign-and-trade could be the best avenue to getting Beasley in New York. Considering the Knicks just took the Pistons out of the playoffs, Beasley getting to New York could be tricky, but if New York has a chance to add the prolific shooter, it should certainly give it a shot.
