There have been rumors over the past few years that the New York Knicks are interested in trading for Walker Kessler of the Utah Jazz. Unfortunately for the Knicks, the Jazz have made their asking price a bit too much, as he hasn’t been moved yet, with no team in the league willing to give up what the Jazz are looking for.
The Jazz are in a weird position where they aren’t a good team, but they could be decent in a few years with players like Kessler on the roster.
Despite that, some still believe he could be traded, including Rohan Raman of Sports Illustrated, who recently proposed an idea to send him to the Knicks.
His trade idea would move on from Mitchell Robinson and more, but it’d still be a favorable deal for the Knicks to make.

Atlanta Hawks receive: Tyler Kolek
New York Knicks receive: Walker Kessler, Kevin Love and Svi Mykhailiuk
Utah Jazz receive: Mitchell Robinson, Pacome Dadiet, 2026 first-round pick (via NYK)
“Robinson is a great player, but they can re-create him in the aggregate with Kessler and Love. Kessler is one of the better rim protectors in the league, posting a BLK% of 7.4% and a staggering 2.4 blocks per game. He made massive strides as a rebounder, recording a league-leading OREB% of 16.6% last year while continuing to end possessions as an intimidating defensive rebounder,” he wrote.
While Robinson has played decently in some big moments for the Knicks, and giving up a first-round pick isn’t exactly easy to do, getting Kessler for just one pick and a player who is often injured would be a favorable deal for the Knicks to make.
