Knicks trade pitch moves Anunoby, Bridges, and more for all-time great

After LeBron James had Rich Paul make some interesting comments, some have speculated whether the Los Angeles Lakers could trade him.

If they decide to move on from him, the New York Knicks would likely be one of the many teams interested.

Would the Knicks want him? Why not?

When searching for a potential trade package, Zach Lowe put together an intriguing deal. He added what it could mean for the Knicks not only right now, but in the future.

“To me, the Knicks are the most interesting one because they could sell it as like if it’s [OG] Anunoby and [Mitchell] Robinson or some combination of Anunoby, [Mikal] Bridges and Robinson,” Lowe explained on his podcast, “The Zach Lowe Show.”

“They could sell it as like, well, we get LeBron James and we’re kind of actually sneakily cleaning up our books for like two or three years down the line, assuming it’s a short-term LeBron deal.”

As Lowe touched on, this would allow the Knicks to not only add arguably the greatest player in NBA history, but it’d also give them an opportunity to clean up their books.

That might be more important than anything else, as the Knicks are in a strange situation with their cap space.

If they could get off Mikal Bridges’ deal and a few others, it could allow them to find the next superstar once James retires.

James is clearly still very good, averaging 24.4 points and shooting 51.3% from the field and 37.6% from 3-point range a year ago, in addition to 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game.

However, he’s 40 years old and will turn 41 in December of next season. For that reason alone, the Knicks likely have to think long and hard about this.
