Knicks survive OG Anunoby injury scare late in team’s win over the Celtics

The New York Knicks secured the second win of the season after taking down the Boston Celtics by a score of 105-95, and they survived an injury scare to one of their most important players in the process.

Late in the fourth quarter, OG Anunoby came up hobbling, and had to come out of the game. Anunoby did not return to the contest, making many fans highly concerned about his status going forward. Anunoby has turned himself into one of the team’s most important pieces, and losing him for an extended period of time would be catastrophic for New York.

Those fears were calmed down after head coach Mike Brown revealed that the injury was merely a cramp, and that Anunoby could’ve come back in the game if Brown felt it was necessary, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.

Anunoby finished with 10 points on 3-10 shooting and two steals in the win. It was a step back from his opening night performance, when he ushered in a strong 24-point, 14-rebound performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Wednesday’s season-opening victory. Nonetheless, the Knicks still came away victorious over their rival.

The Knicks will look to keep the winning going as they travel to Miami for a matchup with the Heat on Sunday.
