The New York Knicks have signed second-round pick Mohamed Diawara to an Exhibit 10 deal, per James L. Edwards III of The Athletic.
Diawara was selected with the 51st overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of France. He spent last season with France’s Cholet Basket club, averaging 6.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in 49 appearances. The young forward brings plenty of versatility to his game on both sides of the floor, but projects as a bit of a long-term development for the Knicks as he works on polishing his game.
Diawara did appear in Summer League for the Knicks earlier this year, where he impressed the team with his two-way ability. He averaged 7.0 points, and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 40 percent from the floor in four Summer League games. His strong showing has now earned him a chance to play for a roster spot under Mike Brown in his rookie season.
Diawara will have to compete with many other free agent signings made by the Knicks over the last several days in order to earn a roster spot. The Knicks have also signed Malcolm Brogdon, Landry Shamet, Matt Ryan, Garrison Mathews, and Alex Len among others to training camp deals. With only a couple of spots up for grabs, Diawara will need to pick up where he left off in Summer League, and impress the team throughout training camp if he wishes to see action in his first NBA season.
