The New York Knicks are facing some pressure, with the team going 1-1 at home heading into Game 3 against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night. For a Knicks team that’s clearly the better squad, on paper, it’s been a bit surprising to see the team struggle.
However, it starts at the top, with Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Tom Thibodeau needing to be better.
While Towns and Thibodeau are essential pieces, Brunson has to be the guy to take over this series. Despite putting up impressive numbers stat-wise, he hasn’t been great, and seems to understand that with his latest announcement heading into Game 3.
“Definitely taking each possession at a time and trying to figure out the best course of action,” Brunson said after Game 2, per Jared Schwartz of the New York Post. “It’s very tough when there’s one ball. We have a lot of great players on this team and definitely it’s on my shoulders. I’m not gonna point fingers and say some people do that and this. It’s on me to make sure I set the table.
“So I’ll go back and I’ll figure out what I need to do. We’ll have conversations and we’ll figure out what we need to do for Game 3.”

The basketball has to move for the Knicks to be the team they’re looking to be.
When they move the ball and get shooters wide-open shots, the Knicks are nearly unbeatable.
The offense during the regular season finished as one of the best in basketball, but there were certainly flaws in it, and some fans were worried about how it’d look in a playoff setting.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t been great so far, something New York needs to fix heading into the Little Caesars Arena on Thursday.
