The New York Knicks got off to a roaring start in their 146-112 blowout victory over the Utah Jazz, making NBA history in the process.
The Knicks started out the win by embarking on a 23-0 run through the first half of the first quarter. Per Knicks PR, it is the longest scoring run to start a game in the NBA since 1996-97 (when play-by-play was first tracked).
It was a wire-to-wire blowout from there, as the Knicks led by as much as 41 late in the second-half in the win. Jalen Brunson scored 33 points and hit six threes, and Miles McBride scored 22 points and hit seven threes off the bench. The Knicks are now winners of four of their last five games.
The win marks back-to-back wins for the Knicks, who are now 15-7, and second in the Eastern Conference. The team appears to be turning a corner at the right time after an inconsistent start, which could be indicative of another deep playoff run in 2025-26.
