The Sacramento Kings’ organization just picked up a great pedigree at the G League level.
This weekend was the G League Draft, in which players signed to G League contracts but not connected to an NBA team were eligible to be taken.
The Kings’ affiliate, the Stockton Kings, used the No. 29 overall pick on Jabri Abdur-Rahim.
He’s the son of former NBA All Star Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Shareef ended his career with the Kings after also playing for the Vancouver Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers. Shareef averaged 18.1 points per game in his career with 7.5 rebounds.

Jabri was a top-50 recruit out of high school as a 6-foot-7 guard from Blair Academy.
He began his college career at the University of Virginia. From there, he went to Georgia, and from there, to Providence.
He played just his last season with the Friars, averaging just 16.1 minutes per game and 7.2 points per game.

Jabri’s best college season was 2023-24 with the Georgia Bulldogs. That year, he averaged 12.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
In his college career, Jabri shot 35.6% from 3-point range, so there’s at least some promise for him from beyond the arc.
Most likely, he just sticks with the Stockton Kings and never makes it to the NBA. But he’s got his foot in the door.
