Kevin Durant puts Suns fan on blast with epic takedown

Future Hall of Fame forward Kevin Durant has trolled a Phoenix Suns fan after yet another he got into another heated online exchange.

The 6-foot-9 Texas, 37, was shipped out of Phoenix to the Houston Rockets over the summer.

Prior to one-time All-Star point guard Fred VanVleet’s ACL tear late into the offseason, Houston appeared to be ready to make a deep playoff run. Bringing in Durant, top free agent signings Dorian Finney-Smith, Clint Capela, and Josh Okogie seemed to bolster the club’s chances.

Durant gets into it with a fan — again

On Sunday, the two-time champ was called out by a Suns fan, in a quote-tweet celebrating an enthusiastic preseason Phoenix bench.

This was not the perennially-online Durant’s first rodeo of heated discourse on the X platform.

“Suns won the trade!” fan @ssyriek exclaimed, going on to tag Durant. “Thank You @KDTrey5.”

If the All-Star being tagged were anyone not named Kevin Durant, one wonders if they would have engaged — or, heck, even noticed.

But Kevin Durant, like we’ve said, is always online.

“No expectations=better vibes,” Durant wrote of the shift in Phoenix. “Enjoy the season brother.”

With Durant and fellow mult-time All-Stars Devin Booker and Bradley Beal rostered, the Suns enjoyed two lackluster seasons in 2024 and ’25, prompting the change.

“You know that you were much more a part of the solution than the problem, right?” fan Suns Brasil (@PhoenixSunsBra) replied. “Just making that clear. The young people on our team are growing a lot, and a big part of that is having you as a role model. I wish you were still here with this same group. We will miss you.”

The 2024-25 Suns buckled under the weight of expectations themselves. The team posted a miserable 36-46 record, and are now missing two of their top talents this summer in Durant and Beal.

Can their growth help Phoenix emerge as a true contender in the Western Conference?
