Kevin De Bruyne is set to bring down the curtain on 10 superb years at Manchester City this summer.
The Belgium international confirmed his intention to leave the club back in April after not receiving a contract extension offer at the Etihad Stadium.
The 33-year-old leaves Pep Guardiola’s squad with an incredible tally of 108 goals from 422 games in the City midfield alongside six Premier League titles and the club’s first-ever UEFA Champions League crown in 2023.
The call not to offer De Bruyne another year on his expiring contract has caused controversy among City fans, but Guardiola is clear in his push for change, with hefty sums paid out in both January and already in the summer transfer market.
Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki have already landed – for a combined summer total over just over £100m [$135m] – with De Bruyne closing in on a free transfer move to Serie A champions Napoli.
Multiple sources are confirming a deal between Antonio Conte and De Bruyne with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano indicating the final steps are almost complete.

Kevin De Bruyne to Napoli: Arrival date, debut, contract
De Bruyne is set to sign a two-year contract in Naples, running until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, with the option to extend for another 12 months if both sides agree.
The terms of the deal to bring him to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona will not include a transfer fee as De Bruyne’s City deal expires on June 30.
Unlike the situation with Trent Alexander-Arnold joining Real Madrid, there is no FIFA Club World Cup pressure on Napoli, as they are not competing in the summer USA tournament.

Los Blancos paid out £10m [$13.5m] to release Trent a month early from his contract, but De Bruyne will wait until July, despite the transfer window reopening on June 16.
On the back of Belgium duty this month, De Bruyne will head off on summer break – before joining up with his new teammates in mid-July – with Napoli yet to announce their preseason plans.
The Serie A season is due to start on August 23, but De Bruyne will make his non-competitive debut in July.
