Jrue Holiday will do one key thing during Celtics-Knicks series, analyst says

Jrue Holiday and the Boston Celtics have made their place in next round of the playoffs. They defeated the Orlando Magic in Round 1 and are set to take on familiar rivals, the New York Knicks, in Round 2.

The Eastern Conference semi-final will see a classic rivalry reignite as the two teams have met 15 times before with the Celtics winning and the Knicks seven.

The Knicks defeated the Detroit Pistons in Round 1, but now have a tougher opponent in the Celtics. Analyst Andy Bailey has made a Jrue Holiday claim ahead of the showdown.

Holiday played just two games in the series against the Orlando Magic as he suffered from a hamstring injury. However, he was not seriously injured and can be expected to be used way more against the Knicks.

Bailey wrote on Bleacher Report about Celtics’ plan to use Holiday, “Even if he’s not quite 100 percent, simply having him as another option to throw at Jalen Brunson will have a positive impact for the Cs.”

He added, “Holiday’s steady hand and willingness and ability to space the floor around Tatum and Brown will help on the other end, too. He isn’t likely to have many huge games in terms of raw production, but his mere presence on the floor will make a difference.”

Jrue Holiday is getting closer to the age of 35. Hence, conserving him is essential for the Celtics. Joe Mazzulla, though, recently said that Holiday is working hard to get back to his full fitness.
