Josh Allen’s QB coach praises Jaxson Dart’s fit with Giants

Former NFL quarterback and renowned quarterback coach Jordan Palmer had some positive things to say about the fit between the New York Giants and the organization’s prized asset, Jaxson Dart.

Though Palmer has never met or worked with Dart, it didn’t keep him from giving his thoughts on the fit during an interview with Big Blue View’s Ed Valentine.

Suffice it to say, Palmer was impressed.

“I don’t do a ton of interviews but when this was set up I was like ‘I’d love to talk about Jaxson Dart.’ I literally don’t know him. I’ve watched almost every snap he’s played, I know everybody who trains him, guys who played with him. I have two clients who backed him up last year. I got to know a lot about this kid,” Palmer said.

The younger brother of Carson Palmer and the founder of QB Summit, Palmer has worked with some big names such as Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence and Bo Nix, to name a few.

“I genuinely feel like it’s a great fit,” Palmer told BBV. “I really like this marriage between Jaxson and Brian Daboll and his staff because I do see a lot of things in Jaxson’s game. I don’t work with Jaxson, but I certainly look at the game differently. I break down every single guy in the draft. I do my own draft grades. I’ve been right a lot more than I’ve been wrong, and I was really high on Jaxson.”

The Giants have been adamant about taking it slow with Dart’s development, especially considering the offense he ran at Ole Miss didn’t ask him to go through full-field progressions or throw with anticipation often.

With that said, there are plenty of traits for head coach Brian Daboll to mold if given the proper time behind Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

Only time will tell what will come of the Giants’ decision to trade up for Dart, but at least one former quarterback sees a positive path for the future.
