
Things took a turn at the 2025 PGA Championship when an approach from Jon Rahm struck a spectator at Quail Hollow on Saturday, though disaster was avoided.
Rahm, who is surging up the leaderboard during the third day of the tournament, had a brief setback during that moment. It quickly went viral as the fan was struck in the head.

Jon Rahm hits fan in head at 2025 PGA Championship
During Rahm’s approach on the 11th hole, the ball sailed left and hit a fan in the head, drawing a reaction from the broadcast crew and other spectators in attendance.

As noted above, the fan appeared to be OK and received a signed glove from Rahm for his troubles.Â
The fan responded affirmatively when asked if he was alright and shared a moment with Rahm before the golfer got back to the main task at hand on the course.

He posted a -2 through the first 10 holes and, after striking the fan on the 11th, bogeyed. His score was -4 through 11.
