John Harbaugh gives update on Isaiah Likely after injury scare at practice

Baltimore Ravens fans are holding their breath after tight end Isaiah Likely suffered an injury at practice on Tuesday.

According to beat writers on the ground, Likely was carted off the field and limped into the building after sustaining the injury during a one-on-one rep with safety Sanoussi Kane.

After practice, head coach John Harbaugh revealed that Likely rolled his ankle and it’s “going to be a few weeks” before he returns to the field, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

Harbaugh added that Likely will have an MRI on his injured ankle on Wednesday and the Ravens will have more information then.

A former fourth-round pick, Likely has dazzled at times with his ability as a pass-catcher over his first three years in the NFL. The Coastal Carolina product had a career-best year in 2024 with 42 catches for 477 yards and six touchdowns.

Likely has been stuck behind fellow tight end Mark Andrews on the depth chart or else he’d probably be featured more in the offense. Hopefully that changes in 2025.

Both Andrews and Likely are entering the final year of their contracts.

It’s assumed that Likely will be extended at some point before he hits free agency next year, and if that happens and Andrews isn’t brought back in 2026, Likely could be fully unleashed.
