Despite Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid’s lack of success over the past two seasons, he is still an MVP and one of the most dominant scorers in the NBA when healthy.
This means if the Sixers opt to trade away Embiid, the return value could be at an all-time high or quite disappointing. Fadeaway World predicts it could be the latter, proposing a lose-lose blockbuster trade between Philadelphia and the Chicago Bulls.
The hypothetical trade details are the following:
Bulls Receive: Joel Embiid
76ers Receive: Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, 2026 First-Round Pick, 2028 First-Round Pick, 2030 First-Round Pick, 2025 Second-Round Pick (SAC)
Starting with the Bulls, this move truly lacks meaning. While Embiid, of course, has the potential to be a top player in the league, the surrounding roster is not prepared to compete for a title. A possible starting lineup of Josh Giddey, Lonzo Ball, Kevin Huerter, Patrick Williams, and Embiid would not strike fear into most top opponents.
Three first-round picks are certainly appealing, especially coming from a long-time pitiful team in the Eastern Conference. However, a plethora of front offices would likely be willing to give up that amount of draft capital and stronger talent. Not to mention, the 76ers don’t need another prominent guard, as they already have Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain.
Embiid’s future is up in the air due to injuries, so it’s important he first takes care of his body before making any major decisions about which team he’ll suit up for.
