Joe Burrow injury update: Latest news on Bengals quarterback’s status in Week 2 game

The Cincinnati Bengals have a massive injury concern in the first half of their Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after quarterback Joe Burrow was banged-up in the first half.

The injury occurred in the second quarter of the contest on Sunday. Burrow left the field and had to be helped to the locker room. His exact injury remains unknown as of this writing.

Prior to his exit, Burrow completed 7-of-13 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown. Burrow also took two sacks in the first half. He was replaced by backup quarterback Jake Browning.

UPDATE: Burrow has officially been ruled out.

UPDATE: FOX19’s Joe Danneman reports that Burrow is using a scooter to support his left leg. Cincinnati has not updated his status after ruling him questionable to return.

It’s safe to say Burrow is unlikely to return on Sunday.

UPDATE: The Bengals announced Burrow is questionable to return to the game due to a left toe injury.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer notes that Burrow was helped to the locker room after leaving the field. That is not a good sign for his status for the rest of the game.
