Jimmy Butler’s return to Minnesota to face Timberwolves with Warriors recalls infamous practice story

Jimmy Butler has played only three games in Minnesota since his infamous maneuver to be traded away from the Timberwolves.

None will have the stakes of the upcoming Western Conference semifinals series between the Warriors and the Wolves.

When Butler decided he wanted out, he returned to practice one day and pretty much challenged everyone in practice.

Butler is reported to have taken the Minnesota benchwarmers and run the table against the Timberwolves’ starters.

When he had finally won, Butler marched out of the gym.

Butler may be a bit of a troublemaker, but he’s also pretty darn savage and often delivers in the big moments.

He’s known as Playoff Jimmy, but he’s just as much about quieting the haters in any setting.

The Minnesota crowd will certainly boo Butler, but that seems just as likely to wake him up as anything else.

So just stick around for the theater of the upcoming series.

Stephen Curry vs. Anthony Edwards will be the headline act.

But the competition with the most dramatic intrigue will be Butler against Minneapolis. We’re all ready to see it.
