Jerry Jones takes a shot at Micah Parsons after Green Bay debut

Micah Parsons received rave reviews after his debut with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, even from his former boss, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Jones said he wasn’t surprised that Parsons played or by his performance, he told 105.3 The Fan.

“From what I saw of him I thought he was able to get in there and play without any influence from his back and I say that with a straight face. I do…wish him well.”

The feeling around Cowboys camp before Parsons was traded was that Parsons wasn’t as bad as he made himself out to be and was capable of playing if called upon.

But the feeling was also that Parsons would use his injury to sit out if need be until his contract situation with the Cowboys was resolved. Parsons had flown out to California before he was traded to get a second opinion on his back.

Parsons talked about what happened with the Cowboys after his debut Sunday and said he was just glad all of this is behind him.

“These last six months were super draining, super toxic for everyone,” Parsons said after Sunday’s win. “It’s something that I don’t think no player should have to go through. Players’ fates should be decided earlier. The fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough. It’s something where I could have been with these guys getting better and better, and we probably could have had probably an even more dominant start if that was the decision they were going to make.”

Although Parsons is glad to be in Green Bay, his agent made it clear that he wanted to remain in Dallas, and Parsons said he will still have a home in Dallas during the offseason.
