The Jazz have had a rough last couple of years. Winning hasn’t been a common occurrence, and even the draft lottery odds haven’t gone in their favor.
Things have gone downhill since they traded away Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. They went from one of the higher-seeded teams in the West to a rebuilding team in the blink of an eye.
Aside from their 52-win season in 2020-21 and their 49-win season in 2021-22, wins have been hard to find in the years following.
On Tuesday, the Jazz made what appeared to be a minor trade, reacquiring George Niang.
After comparing one of his stats to the Jazz’s as a team over the past few years, it might be a better move than some thought.
What recent individual stat for Niang is shocking compared to the Jazz’s?
Since the new decade began, Georges Niang has won an incredible number of games with the teams he’s played for. He’s won 277, to be exact.
That number is far superior to the number of games that the Jazz have won since 2020.
The Jazz have just 209 wins since the turn of the decade. That’s 68 less than Niang’s total (StatMuse).

It’s important to note that Niang did play for Utah in 2020-21 when they had their best season since 2009-10.
Even after leaving the Jazz, Niang found success with the 76ers and Cavs in the last few years.
Will he bring the Jazz back to the playoffs? Probably not, but maybe they’re hoping Niang can bring a spark back that he provided from his first stint with the team.
The Jazz have been in full sell mode as they try to rebuild back to the team they were in the late 2010s and early 2020s.
