Jayson Tatum’s trainer has ‘no doubt’ he’ll come back better than he was

It has been almost four weeks since Jayson Tatum went down with a torn achilles that ended his season and could put him out for the 25-26 season.

It’s one of the toughest injuries to come back from in sports, but one person in Tatum’s corner is very confident in Tatum returning, and being even better than he was before the injury.

Why is there optimism?

Anyone can have optimism about a situation like this, but hearing it from Drew Hanlen, Tatum’s longtime trainer, is a great sign.

He out of all people knows how hard Tatum works behind closed doors, so he feels Jayson has the work ethic to come back from this stronger.

Hanlen was on a podcast called ‘Cayden’s Corner’ where he discussed Tatum’s comeback, saying, “I’ve went through this process with a lot with of guys before… I have no doubt JT is going to be just as good as he is, and I think he’ll be better.”

The concern with these injuries is usually that players might not be as explosive or as athletic as they used to be, but even if that’s the case, Tatum has the tools and the frame to excel in other parts of his game.

Fans would already complain that he wouldn’t drive the ball enough, so he was somewhat already succeeding without using his athleticism all the time in the first place.
