Liverpool boss Arne Slot is working across multiple transfer deals to bolster his squad this summer.
The Dutch coach enjoyed a superb first season in charge on Merseyside, leading the Reds to a second Premier League title in five years inside his debut 12 months.
The key renewals of club captain Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah were a major boost for Slot in the final weeks of their 2024/25 title-winning campaign but changes are still expected.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has completed a free transfer switch to Real Madrid with Jeremie Frimpong already brought in from Bayer Leverkusen as his replacement at right-back.
Frimpong will battle Conor Bradley for the position next season, but Slot wants two players in each position in his squad for the 2025/26 campaign, with talks ongoing over a record transfer deal for Frimpong’s teammate Florian Wirtz.
Leverkusen are reportedly holding out for €150m [$171m], with rumours the Bundesliga giants have already rejected an offer of €130m [$149m], and that deal will roll on.

Reds legend Jamie Carrragher indicated his confidence at the club getting a deal done for Wirtz but the former defender highlighted his priority position to bring in a new signing.
Who does Carragher want Liverpool to sign?
As part of his slot on Sky Sports’ The Overlap podcast, Carragher claimed left-back should be the next focus for Slot, with talks ongoing for Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez.
“Throughout the season, I was still saying Liverpool still need five or six players,” he said.
“I think a new left-back comes in and plays straight away, Frimpong will fight with Conor Bradley, Wirtz will play when he comes to the club.
“Liverpool need a left-back, Andy Robertson needs help on that side and Kostas Tsimikas will be moved on. I’ve always felt attacking midfield and left-back are the two areas that have jumped out to me in the last 12 to 18 months.”
Liverpool are confident of agreeing a deal for Hungary international Kerkez, despite interest from rivals Manchester City, but the 21-year-old could cost around £35m [$47m].
