Tottenham star James Maddison was in buoyant mood as Spurs returning to winning ways with a superb 5-0 Premier League victory at rock bottom Southampton.
Spurs landed on the south coast in firm need of a confidence boost after picking up just one win in their previous nine games in all competitions.
However, their ruthless attacking edge was matched by yet more suspect defending from the Saints, as Maddison scored inside the first 60 seconds, and the visitors led 3-0 by the 15th minute mark.

Maddison doubled his tally inside first half added time, with the away team 5-0 up at the break, against a dismal Southampton.
Victory at the St. Mary’s Stadium is Spurs’ first league win since blowing away Manchester City in November and Maddison insisted there is no reason why his team cannot put the fear back into opponents.
“We can blow away any team in this league, not just Southampton. We did the same at Man City. But we need to do it on a regular basis,” as per TNT Sports, via BBC Sport.
“We showed grit and determination, especially after a rapid turnaround from Glasgow. I’m proud of the boys.”
Tottenham face another speedy spin in between games in the coming days as they host Manchester United in an EFL Cup quarterfinal on December 19.
