Jalen Milroe turns heads in Seahawks camp

NFL training camps have only been open a few days, and some rookies are already making a good impression with their team, including former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Milroe’s arm strength apparently has coaches, fans, the media, and teammates ooooing and awwing.

Brian Nemhauser, who is a reporter who covers the Seahawks, talked about the impact Milroe has already made on this team.

“Jalen Milroe had a heck of a practice,” Nemhauser posted to X. “He was making so many plays with his arm that he did pushups on the sideline after completing a 20-yard pass to Ricky White because the throw forced White to dive for it.”

It appears that the third-round draft pick has all but sewn up the backup QB position with the team, and there is talk that he might see the field this season, too.

He’s even impressed starter Sam Darnold with his work ethic.

“He’s coming in early with all of us, learning, studying,” Sam Darnold said to the Seattle Times. “That’s all you can ever ask for — him just continuing to grow and learn the system.”

There was never a problem with Milroe’s arm strength while he was in college; it was his accuracy that seemed to be the problem last year.

He has proven his arm strength when you look at the game-winning touchdown pass he threw to Ryan Williams in the Georgia game last year, cut to him struggling to get the passing game going in a loss to Oklahoma that kept the Crimson Tide out of the College Football Playoff.

If Milroe can get back the accuracy he had when he was second-team All-SEC his junior year, along with his running ability, he’s going to cause quite a few problems for NFL defenses as he did in college. Sam Darnold might be looking over his shoulder soon.
