Mexican super middleweight star Jaime Munguia will have his fourth fight of the year at home in Tijuana when he takes on the unheralded Bruno Surace at the Estadio Caliente on December 14.
The 10-round bout, plus undercard action, will be broadcast by ESPN+.

Munguia (44-1, 35 KOs) bounced back brilliantly from his first defeat at the hands of Canelo Alvarez to score an impressive stoppage win over the previously unbeaten Erik Bazinyan.
If he comes through against Surace, the WBC has ordered a final eliminator between Munguia and Canadian power-puncher Christian Mbilli.
“[Surace] is a strong fighter, he throws a lot of combinations,” said Munguia at the final press conference.
“I’ve studied him, and I’m confident of the work that we have done. I will walk away with my hand raised in victory.
“It’s a big weight on my shoulders to fight in this stadium in front of all my people. It’s going to fill me with a lot of emotions. But I have to control that and do an intelligent fight. And I’m prepared to do that and give a great show to the people.”
Surace (25-0-2, 4 KOs) replaces original Munguia opponent Ronald Gavril. The Frenchman will be fighting outside his home country for the first time in an eight-year professional career and is taking an enormous step up in class.
In his most recent outing, last December, Surace scored a final-round stoppage over Jhon Jader Obregon.
“I have seen many of [Munguia’s] fights since he was a junior middleweight,” said Surace.
“He’s an aggressive fighter who fights in the Mexican tradition. We are focused on every detail because the details matter in a big fight. We are ready for a war.
“In the first few rounds, I’ll have to get a lot of information and lay out a plan to fight him. But I’ve also seen many videos of him, and I know how I will need to box him.”
The Sporting News will provide undercard results and a full report on this main event from Tijuana.
