Is there a halftime show for Chiefs vs. Steelers? What we know about NFL Christmas plans before Beyonce takes stage

The NFL will have two games on Christmas Day this year. The holiday falls on a Wednesday, but the league wants to compete with the NBA, so it decided four teams would play on back-to-back short weeks to get the games in.

The Steelers will host the Chiefs at 1 p.m. ET, while the Ravens will take on the Texans at 4:30 p.m. ET. Both games will air on Netflix. The streaming platform is dabbling into live sports and notoriously struggled to handle the bandwidth that came with airing the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight last month.

In order to drum up hype for the Christmas Day games, Netflix began hyping up a massive halftime performance. It was revealed that Beyonce would perform the halftime show of the Ravens-Texans game.

Beyonce is one of the biggest names in music and the entertainment world as a whole. With both games on the same platform it was assumed that a rival act would be announced for the Chiefs-Steelers game.

Here is what he know about the Chiefs-Steelers Christmas Day halftime show.

Chiefs-Steelers halftime show

With the Chiefs coming to town, all eyes will be on whether or not Taylor Swift will be in attendance. The music icon tends to stick to Kansas City home games, but surely she would want to spend Christmas with her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Netflix has not announced that Swift will be the halftime performer, but that hasn’t stopped Swifties from crossing their fingers in hopes that not only is she at the game but that she could be a surprise halftime performer. That possibility is extremely unlikely, however, given that Netflix would be taking a gigantic viewership risk by not promoting her.

For now, no halftime show has been announced for the game. That is likely due to the fact that Acrisure Stadium is open-air, and the elements could work against a performer — as they were when electric violinist Lindsey Sterling performed at the Packers’ Thanksgiving game.

Beyonce will perform at NRG Stadium in Houston, which is a dome.

Any halftime show at the Chiefs-Steelers game is likely to be of the more traditional variety along the lines of a corgi race. Maybe Santa will get a feature, but that is expected to be the biggest name on the table for the halftime show.

This post will be updated if a Chiefs-Steelers halftime performer is announced

Ravens-Texans halftime show

The Ravens and Texans are scheduled to kickoff at 4:30 p.m. ET. Many people watching the game, will be only watching the clock that not only is counting down each quarter but the time until Beyonce performs.

The music star promoted the show as “A Cowboys Carter Christmas.” In the promotion for her performance, her song “Texas Hold ‘Em” can be heard. Beyonce will likely perform songs off her latest album as well as a classic Christmas song or two.
