Finishing the season with 58 receptions, 866 yards and nine touchdowns in the SEC, typically means an NFL Combine invitation is a given.
However, LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy will not have the chance to prove to NFL scouts that he is a top-tier talent after an off-the-field incident.
Lacy could have been a first-round pick, and would have at worst been selected in the top 50, but he is currently facing felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle charges. Lacy is not the first prospect to be left out of the NFL Combine, and he will very likely still be drafted, because teams will not overlook his talent.
Here is a closer look at why Lacy will not be in Indianapolis.

Why is Kyren Lacy not at the NFL Combine?
Lacy was not invited to the NFL Combine because of an off-field incident that occurred in December.
He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in January on the charges of hit-and-run driving with serious injury or death, reckless operation with accident, and negligent homicide.
The NFL did not extend an invitation to Lacy because his legal trouble is ongoing. He turned himself in last month before being released on bail.
Kyren Lacy arrest
Lacy was accused of causing a crash that killed a 78-year-old man on Dec. 17. He reportedly fled the scene without rendering aid or calling authorities. He turned himself in nearly a month later, was jailed and then released on $151,000 bail.
Laforche (Louisiana) Parish Sheriff’s Office records indicate that Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with death and reckless operation of vehicle.
A warrant was issued for Lacy’s arrest last month and police said they told Lacy and his attorney to turn himself in.
According to a news release from Louisiana State Police in January, Lacy was allegedly driving a 2023 Dodge Charger on Louisiana Highway 20 and “recklessly passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed by crossing the centerline and entering the northbound lane while in a designated no-passing zone.”
“As Lacy was illegally passing the other vehicles, the driver of a northbound pickup truck abruptly braked and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the approaching Dodge,” a Louisiana State Police news release said.
“Traveling behind the pickup was a 2017 Kia Cadenza whose driver swerved left to avoid the oncoming Dodge Charger. As the Kia Cadenza took evasive action to avoid impact with the Dodge, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento.”
Herman Hall, of Thibodaux, Louisiana, who was a passenger in the Kia Sorento, later died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to state police. Hall was 78.
The drivers of the Cadenza and Sorento also sustained moderate injuries, according to police.
Kyren Lacy college stats
Lacy spent two seasons at Louisiana before transferring to LSU in 2022.
He was part of a stacked receiving corps that featured Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. In 2024, with both of those stars in the NFL, Lacy took on a bigger role and had his best season yet.
