Is Jaxon Smith-Njigba playing in fantasy Week 3? Update on Seahawks WR’s status

If you missed it, Jaxon Smith-Njigba popped up on the injury report Saturday afternoon. He was listed as questionable for Week 3 due to an apparent illness. 

There is not a ton of clarity on what kind of illness Smith-Njigba is dealing with. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter later revealed it was some type of “bug.”

Someone of Smith-Njigba’s caliber being absent would tremendously impact not just the game but also fantasy football matchups.

Is Jaxon Smith-Njigba playing in Week 3?

Despite being added to the injury report on Saturday, Smith-Njigba is expected to suit up against the Saints in Week 3.

He was reportedly tagged as questionable as a precautionary measure.

If for some reason Smith-Njigba felt awful on Sunday morning, the Seahawks simply wanted to be ahead of it. However, the team reports that he’s going to play, and his availability should be unaffected.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Week 3 fantasy outlook vs. Saints

This is obviously something to monitor all the way up until kickoff, but if Smith-Njigba plays, he should absolutely be in your lineup. 

We’re talking about a player who is the WR11 overall through the first two weeks. JSN is averaging 19.4 fantasy points per game with zero touchdowns. 

In Week 3, the Seahawks battle the Saints, who have allowed 18.6 fantasy points per game to the WR position. Barring any sort of limitations or snap counts, JSN is going to have a great performance.
