President Donald Trump has been busy in the first few weeks of his second term. He may be continuing that with a trip to the big game on Sunday.
Trump is expected to be in attendance at the Superdome when the Chiefs and Eagles face off in Super Bowl 59.
The President has attended many sporting events in his life, and he will reportedly add another Super Bowl to his list as a guest of Saints owner Gayle Benson.

Why is Donald Trump at the Super Bowl?
By attending the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Eagles on Sunday, Trump will become the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl.
In the past, most presidents would tape an interview that aired before the Super Bowl but didn’t actually watch the game in person. This year, Trump will be doing both.
First, Trump is sitting down for an interview with Fox News. He is then expected to attend the Super Bowl, which will also be aired on Fox.

Who is in the box with Donald Trump?
According to Front Office Sports, Trump will attend as a guest to Saints owner Gayle Benson, as New Orleans is playing host to the game this year. Therefore, Trump will likely be in the Saints owner’s box.
It is unclear exactly who else will be joining Trump, but House Speaker Mike Johnson is one possibility. The representative of Louisiana’s fourth district, Johnson grew up in the state and attended LSU in college.

This will not be the first time Trump has attended a Super Bowl. He also saw Super Bowl 26 between the Bills and then-Redskins in person.
Besides the big game, Trump has attended his share of sporting events, most recently a game between the Jets and Steelers in Pittsburgh last October. During his first term as president, Trump saw Game 5 of the 2019 World Series between the Nationals and Astros in Washington live. He attended the 2018 College Football National Championship between Alabama and Georgia in Atlanta as well.
