On Saturday night, Netflix will once again be the home of a major boxing event.
After streaming the highly anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in late 2024, the streaming service will carry Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford, going head-to-head for Alvarez’s status as the undisputed super middleweight champion.
The event, which will be promoted by TKO’s Zuffa Boxing and Riyadh Season, features two of boxing’s biggest stars, with Alvarez carrying a 63-2-2 record and Crawford owning a 41-0 record. Will fans be able to watch the bout for free on Netflix?

Is Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford free on Netflix?

Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford will air globally on Netflix. There is no way to watch the event for free without a Netflix account. Because Netflix doesn’t currently offer a free trial to new subscribers, those without a prior subscription to the service will have to purchase one in order to watch the fight.
However, once one does have an active Netflix account, there is no extra PPV cost for the fight or event, and you’ll be able to watch it on-demand after the conclusion of the event. So, if you’ve already had a Netflix account prior to the Alvarez-Crawford fight, watching the fight won’t cost extra.

Coverage of the Canelo vs. Crawford fight will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 13, streaming globally on Netflix. The main card is set to begin around 9 p.m. ET.
Main-event ring walks for Alvarez and Crawford will be at approximately 11 p.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
The two fighters are both considered one of the most dominant of their time, with Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) being the reigning WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF super middleweight champion. He’ll be putting his titles on the line against Crawford, (41-0, 31 KOs), who is moving up to 168 pounds for the bout.
Alvarez last defeated William Scull in May and became the undisputed 168-pound champion for the second time in his career. Meanwhile, Crawford has not fought since August 2024, when he beat Israil Madrimov for the WBA junior middleweight title.
