The Chicago Bulls legend and greatest player of all time has been in the spotlight recently and has become a broadcaster.
The whimsical NBA on TNT cast of Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson had a legendary run, but the contract is up after 34 years.
The NBA has parted ways with TNT, signing a new deal with ESPN/ABC, NBC, and Amazon Prime Video
A rumor concerning a Michael Jordan contract to join the NBA on the NBC team has been floating around. This rumored contract would be $40 million a year, more than he ever made in a single season playing in the NBA.
However, according to ComplexSports, a source told Front Office Sports that the rumor is not accurate and the contract would be nowhere near that number.
In retrospect, that amount of money would be about twice what comical personality Charles Barkley makes.

“A source tells FOS that reports claiming Michael Jordan will make $40 million per year to join the NBA on NBC broadcast team are not accurate.”
“The rumored salary would be roughly twice what Charles Barkley earns annually at TNT.”
Although the big four of broadcasting will still be on TV, they may not have the same freedom they once had on TNT.
They were known for making their viewers laugh while also informing them about the game.
While rumors float around about the possibility of Jordan joining the cast, it may be fun to speculate how much money they would have to pay him.
