Is Aaron Jones playing tonight in fantasy? Tips, advice for Vikings RB start-sit decision in Week 8

Somehow, it’s already Week 8.

Your fantasy football season might be going great, or terribly, or somewhere in between. There are still a handful of weeks to salvage things before the playoffs, though.

That starts with Thursday Night Football to begin this new week. It’s Minnesota Vikings against Los Angeles Chargers.

And there’s really only one piece of injury news impacting fantasy lineups tonight: Aaron Jones’ injury status.

The Vikings running back has missed the last four games on IR, but he’s eligible to return now, and he did get back on the practice field this week.

If he plays, it impacts both himself and Jordan Mason in the backfield.

Is Aaron Jones playing tonight?

Jones is a true questionable to play on Thursday night.

He has missed four games (and five weeks counting a bye) with a hamstring injury.

The veteran RB did get limited practices in on both Tuesday and Wednesday, a positive sign, and he’s officially listed as questionable. If he doesn’t play this week, he’ll almost certainly be good to go in Week 9.

Should I start Aaron Jones in fantasy?

Jones is a risky start. It’s probably safe to sit him this week no matter what.

If Jones plays, it does raise the question of what to do with Jordan Mason, but that’s sort of the flip side of this.

While Jones comes with risk, Mason comes with relative safety. You can start him. He should still see double-digit carries and have a good chance at a TD in the red zone.
