Inter Miami will make their tournament debut at 2025 FIFA Club World Cup as part of an expanded competition in the USA.
The MLS side’s qualification for the Club World Cup was confirmed in October 2024 following a FIFA update on the spot reserved for the host nation.
One place was held back for a team from the United States, which FIFA opted to award to Inter Miami for winning the 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield, the trophy given to the team with the best regular-season record.
Lionel Messi will lead Inter Miami into the competition he won three times at Barcelona in 2009, 2011 and 2015.

When does the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 start?
The FIFA Club World Cup takes place in the summer of 2025 in the United States, with the group stage to begin on June 14, 2025, with Messi and Inter Miami playing Al Ahly in the opening match at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
The tournament will progress for the subsequent month, with the top two teams from the eight groups of four progressing to the knockout stage and the Round of 16. The final takes place on July 13, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Where will Inter Miami play their 2025 Club World Cup games?
Group Stage
Inter Miami’s opening match against Al Ahly, and their third group game against Palmeiras, will be held in Miami Gardens at Hard Rock Stadium.
Their second group game against Porto sees them head north to Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Knockout Stage
If Inter Miami manage to finish top of their group, they will play a Round of 16 match against the Group B runners-up at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on June 28. A possible quarterfinal would take place at the same venue on July 4.
Should they qualify for the knockouts as group runners-up, they will face the winners of Group B at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on June 29, with a potential quarterfinal at the same stadium on July 5.
Both semifinals and final take place at MetLife Stadium.
