How to watch The Players Championship playoff: Time, TV channel, live stream for Rory McIlroy-J.J. Spaun on Monday

It will take three more holes — at least — to determine who wins The Players Championship in 2025.

Rory McIlroy and J.J. Spaun will go head-to-head in an aggregate playoff after a lengthy weather delay pushed Sunday’s final round to sunset.

McIlroy and Spaun finished the day at TPC Sawgrass tied at 12 under par and will return to the course Monday morning for the deciding holes.

Here’s how to tune in to the conclusion of the tournament known as the “fifth major”:

Players Championship playoff start time

  • Date: Monday, March 17
  • Time: 9 a.m. ET

McIlroy and Spaun will tee it up at TPC Sawgrass on Monday, March 17, beginning at 9 a.m. ET.

Players Championship playoff format

McIlroy and Spaun will play holes 16, 17, and 18 on Monday morning, and the player with the lowest aggregate score after those three holes will be the winner.

In Sunday’s final round, McIlroy shot par on each of those holes, while Spaun played them at 1 under with a birdie on the par-5 16th.

If they remain tied, they’ll continue to play hole-by-hole in a sudden-death format, with the first player to win a hole taking the title. The first sudden-death hole would be No. 17, followed by No. 18 and No. 16 if needed.
