The inaugural season of the TGL indoor golf league begins on Tuesday night, with the New York Golf Club playing The Bay Golf Club.
Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Xander Schauffele will compete for New York, with Shane Lowry, Wyndham Clark, and Ludwid Aberg participating for The Bay.
This marks the first of 15 regular-season matches in the novel tech-infused golf league, spearheaded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
Matches are played in the state-of-the-art SoFi Center, specially designed to incorporate virtual reality and bring fans closer to the action.

The New York Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club kickstart the TGL at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
The match will be played at the SoFi Center on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Is Tiger Woods playing in TGL today?
Tiger Woods, a member of TGL’s Jupiter Links Golf Club, does not compete in tonight’s match. Woods’ first chance at action will be on Tuesday, Jan. 14, with Jupiter battling Collin Morikawa and the Los Angeles Golf Club.

TGL golf format
Matches are scheduled for two hours and will feature three of the four PGA Tour golfers from each roster going head-to-head.
The fifteen-hole courses are split into two sessions: A nine-hole, 3-on-3 format dubbed ‘triples,’ and a six-hole, head-to-head ‘singles’ round. Each hole is worth one point.
At the end of the regular season, the top four teams advance to the playoffs, featuring single-elimination semifinals and a best-of-three finals.
