Marshall and Vermont will play for a title on Monday evening in the 2024 NCAA men’s soccer championship. 

The 13th-seeded Thundering Herd knocked off No. 1 Ohio State, 1-0, in Thursday’s semifinal match. Tarik Pannholzer scored the contest’s only goal. 

Marshall is looking to win its second title in the last five years, after winning the 2020 NCAA men’s soccer championship. 

Vermont continued its unlikely run with a dramatic semifinal win over No. 3 Denver, besting the Pioneers in a 4-3 shootout. The game had been tied at one goal apiece through extra time. 

This is the furthest that the Catamounts have advanced in program history.
