More than a week after reports about one of the most shocking trades in NBA history first emerged, the news still doesn’t feel real. Luka Doncic is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The now-former Mavericks star was acquired by Los Angeles in a deal that sent Anthony Davis to Dallas, stunning the rest of the league and giving the Lakers a face of the franchise for the post-LeBron James era. Doncic has been sidelined for more than a month with a calf injury, but he is finally expected to make his debut with the Lakers on Monday night against the Jazz.
Unfortunately for Doncic, he won’t be able to play with a new lob threat, as the trade that brought Mark Williams to Los Angeles was rescinded after the Hornets center failed his physical exam.
