Eighteen-year-old Cooper Flagg makes his much-anticipated NBA debut on Wednesday night.
Flagg, the No. 1 overall pick in the most recent NBA Draft, will take the floor as the upstart Mavericks take on Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs.
A 6-foot-9, do-it-all forward out of Duke, Flagg averaged 11.3 points per game across four preseason contests. Expectations are high for the rookie, who carries the unfair burden of replacing Luka Doncic as the franchise player, following the stunning blockbuster trade that sent Doncic to the Lakers last February.
Thus begins a new era in Dallas, with Flagg paired alongside Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II in the frontcourt.
