The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League promises to be one for the history books, as the first of the new-age expanded and reorganized competition.
The world’s most famous and visible club competition has expanded to 36 teams and reshuffled the old group stage into what’s been dubbed the “league phase,” where teams will play eight matches against randomly selected opponents and placed into a full table.
All clubs will be thrown into the mixer to compete against one another, and there are some premium matchups on the schedule as a result.
As Matchday 7 approaches, the battle for knockout stage qualification heats up, with only the top eight teams securing direct entry to the last 16. The stakes are high, as football giants such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Manchester City currently sit outside the elite top eight positions. Adding to the intrigue, PSG face a challenging task to break into the top 24, heightening the tension as the group stages reach a critical phase. Every match becomes crucial as teams fight to keep their Champions League dreams alive.
Tuesday’s matches have some nice clashes to offer as Atletico Madrid host reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, while Barcelona travel to Benfica. Elsewhere, Liverpool play dark horses Lille, while Borussia Dortmund pay a visit to Bologna.
All eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, when Manchester City host PSG, with a win crucial for both sides’ qualification hopes. Real Madrid will host RB Salzburg, while Bayern Munich travel to Feyenoord. Additionally, Arsenal will play against Dinamo Zagreb, while AC Milan welcome Girona.

There is also a yearly option which normally costs $59.99, but a promotion for a limited time for new subscribers who can enjoy Paramount+ starting at $2.50 per month for 12 months by selecting the annual option!

Can you get Paramount+ for free?
As of the start of the 2024/25 season, Paramount+ is offering a one-week free trial for new users. This gives viewers access to all of CBS Sports’ soccer inventory, most notably the UEFA Champions League, Serie A, and EFL competitions.
