How much are World Cup tickets 2026? Here are the cheapest and most expensive seats for FIFA tournament

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is poised to be the largest and most expansive edition in the history of the sport. For the first time ever, the tournament is expanding its field to include 48 competing nations, a significant increase from the traditional 32-team format. This landmark expansion guarantees more nations the opportunity to participate on the world stage.

This monumental event will be co-hosted across three North American countries: the United States, Canada and Mexico. A total of 16 host cities — 11 in the U.S., three in Mexico and two in Canada — will welcome the world’s best teams and millions of fans. The cross-continent hosting arrangement highlights the truly global nature of the sport.

The new format will see the 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four nations, replacing the previous eight-group structure. The group stage will be followed by a new Round of 32 knockout phase. The top two teams from each group will advance automatically, joined by the eight best third-place finishers, ensuring competitive stakes right up until the final group matches.

Across the sprawling host nations, the world’s best players will represent their countries as they chase the coveted trophy. With so many teams and fans spread across the continent, many will be searching for the best ways to purchase tickets.

The Sporting News has you covered with ticket prices for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including the cheapest and most expensive seats.
