It’s Dinger Tuesday, with a full MLB schedule for our home run picks. Tuesdays are always fun over the summer thanks to consistently having all teams in on the action, along with a home run boost on FanDuel.
We managed to have a successful day yesterday, thanks to Michael Harris II who came through with a home run. Let’s hope to have more success tonight, with our favorite home run picks for August 19th. There are MLB betting bonuses available for these HR prop bets on FanDuel and bet365.
Best MLB Home Run Picks for Tuesday
Lindor Goes Long at Nationals Park
While it has been a hit or miss year for Lindor overall, he has really come on recently. Over the last seven days, he has 12 HardHits and four barrels. He is one of 13 batters with four or more barrels and one of 10 batters with 12 or more HardHits, and only two other batters can claim both.
He will be going up against Nats starter Jake Irvin, who really struggles against lefties. Over the last six weeks, Irvin has allowed a home run every 12.50 ABs to lefties, allowing an 8% barrel rate and 54% HardHit rate, all with a low strikeout rate of 10.50%.
This is also a matchup that Lindor has dominated in the past. Over the last three years, these two have 16 ABs against each other, and Lindor has six total hits (batting .375), with two extra-base hits and one home run. Lindor takes Irvin yard once again tonight.
Neto Homers for Angels
While Neto does admittedly have a tough matchup against Reds starter Hunter Greene, he has done a fantastic job barreling the ball up recently. Over the last week, he is one of four batters with five or more barrels, and over the last two weeks he is one of four batters with nine or more barrels.
He continued to hit the ball well yesterday, with two barrels yesterday alone. He had a double that was 108.3 mph off the bat and traveled 365 feet, which would have been a home run in 12/30 stadiums. Then, he had another 100+ mph exit velocity flyout that traveled 396 feet, it was just unfortunately hit to dead center field and went to the warning track.
While Greene is a good pitcher, he is still only on his second start returning from a lengthy injury, and he is not impossible to hit a home run off. On the year, he has allowed a home run every 26.50 at-bats. Neto crushes one tonight.
Marte Hits Home Run at Chase Field
When talking about batters that are hot at the plate, there might not be a batter that is hotter than Ketel Marte. Over the last week, Marte is tied with the league-lead in total barrels with six, and he has the fourth-most HardHits with six. All three batters ahead of him in terms of HardHits have only three barrels.
While Marte “only” has two home runs in this stretch, he might have some of the unluckiest non home runs over the last couple games. On 8/15 he had a flyout that traveled 415 feet and would have been a home run in 20/30 stadiums, and then, the very next day on 8/16, he had a double that would have been a home run in 25/30 stadiums. He had the 17th off, and then yesterday he had the hardest hit of the game, a missile that was 111.9 mph off the bat that just needed a higher launch angle.
So, this is all to say that Marte has been destroying the baseball, and he has a great opportunity to go yard tonight. Tanner Bibee is the Guardians starter, who is not a bad pitcher, but he struggles against lefties and on the road.
On the year, Bibee has a HR/9 of 1.60 against LHH (1.30 against RHH) and, more importantly, a HR/9 of 1.98 away (0.76 at home).
