Heisman winner’s résumé so nice, the Jaguars announced his signing twice

Travis Hunter has signed his rookie deal with the Jacksonville — and the Jaguars are making sure no one missed the news.

The NFL franchise officially inked the Heisman Trophy winner on Sunday, announcing the news not once but twice, reminding everyone that the former Colorado standout is a two-way star.

The Jaguars’ official X account (formerly Twitter) posted two similar photos of Hunter at 5:50 p.m. ET, with the first post introducing Hunter as a wide receiver and the second post introducing him as a defensive back.

Funny enough, Hunter is holding a football in just the second photo — the image that accompanies the announcement of him as a defensive back.

Then again, Hunter was such a ballhawk with the Buffaloes that perhaps it makes sense to remind everyone just how much of a difference-maker he was while in college.

In two years at Colorado, Hunter tallied 67 tackles, seven interceptions, 16 pass breakups and one forced fumble.

On offense? Even better: 153 catches for 1,989 yards with 20 receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.

The Jags drafted Hunter No. 2 overall in April.

In addition to the Heisman, Hunter won the Walter Camp Award, the AP and the Sporting News Player of the Year honors in 2024. He also earned the Paul Hornung Award for most versatile player, the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver, and the Bednarik Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy as the nation’s best defensive player.

Most impressive of all, Hunter played 2,625 snaps in his Buffs career.
