Real Betis, officially known as Real Betis Balompie, have a long and storied history that dates back to their founding in 1907.
That history includes a number of titles, and while the club is not one of the Spanish football powerhouses, they do boast silverware in their recent and historic past.
One thing missing from the trophy case is a European title, but the club is hoping to change that as they are set to participate in the UEFA Conference League final against Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Sporting News looks at what Real Betis have won across the decades of club history and what a Conference League title would mean for them.
Have Real Betis won a trophy before?
Real Betis have won 13 trophies in their history, but only four of those are considered major trophies at the highest level of Spanish professional football.
They have one La Liga championship and three Copa del Rey titles, plus seven Segunda Division (second tier) titles and one Tercera Division (third tier) crown.
The last trophy Real Betis won came in 2021/22 when Manuel Pellegrini led them to the Copa del Rey title, beating Valencia in the final. They can partially thank Athletic Club for helping them along the way that year, as the Bilbao-based club knocked out both Real Madrid and Barcelona before falling to Valencia in the semifinals.
Real Betis have never won a European trophy in their history.

La Liga
- Titles: 1
- Years won: 1934/35
Real Betis have won one La Liga title in their club’s history, but they have to go all the way back to 1935 for such an achievement. The club won the seventh-ever edition of La Liga, in the penultimate season before a three-year pause for the Spanish civil war.
They finished first in the 12-team table by a single point over second-placed Madrid FC (now Real Madrid), in an era where wins were only worth two points and draws worth one.
Since that time, the highest they’ve ever finished in the league is third, last accomplished in 1994/95.
Copa del Rey
- Titles: 3
- Years won: 1976/77, 2004/05, 2021/22
- Finals lost: 2 (1931, 1996/97)
Pellegrini led Betis to their third all-time Copa del Rey title when they oversaw a penalty-shootout win over Valencia to conclude the 2022 season following a 1-1 draw.
It is only the second major trophy RealBetis have won since the 1970s, following another Copa del Rey victory in 2004/05 when they beat Osasuna in extra time in the final.
UEFA Conference League
- Titles: 0
- Finals participation: 1 (2024/25)
Betis have never won a European trophy, but the club can potentially win their first as they meet Chelsea in this year’s final in Wroclaw.
Segunda Division
- Titles: 7
- Years won: 1931/32, 1941/42, 1957/58, 1970/71, 1973/74, 2010/11, 2014/15
- Runners-up: 3 (1989/90, 1993/94, 2000/01)
Betis have been a consistent La Liga participant since promotion to the top flight in 2015, but that has not always been the case. They have often bounced between the first and second tier of Spanish football throughout their history, which provided an opportunity to win the Segunda Division title on numerous occasions.
Tercera Division
- Titles: 1
- Years won: 1953/54
The Tercera Division is a now-defunct league that served for nearly 50 years as the third tier of Spanish football, including when Real Betis won their division in 1954.
The division was then moved to the fourth tier of the pyramid in 1977, before being shuttered in 2021 as part of a reshuffling of the Spanish football hierarchy.
Copa Federacion de Espana
- Titles: 1
- Years won: 1953/54
Real Betis have also won one Copa Federacion de Espana, which is a knockout competition for lower-league clubs, similar to the EFL Trophy in England. The club won in the final iteration of the old competition, before it was shelved for almost 40 years.
The competition was revived in 1993, before being reformatted by the RFEF in 2019 for the modern setup.
