Bayern Munich are off to a rollicking start to the 2025/26 campaign and a one of the biggest reasons for their perfect start has to be their talismanic striker, Harry Kane.
The Englishman is in fine fettle as he is scoring goals for fun for the Bavarians, mustering 21 goal contributions in just 10 competitive games.
Kane also reached 100 goal milestone for Bayern Munich with his brace against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga which also helped him break Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland’s record.
Despite his exquisite goalscoring form for Bayern, there have been rumours of him returning to Premier League next summer.
Amid all the suspense, the 32-year-old has finally spoken about the potential of extending his contract with Bayern and also the prospect of returning to England.
“In terms of staying longer (at Bayern), I could definitely see that,” Kane told Guardian when asked about his future in Munich. “I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise, I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation.

“Obviously it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment, and I am not thinking about anything else.
“I am fully all in with Bayern. If there was a conversation about extending then we will see, but I have still got this season and another season. It is not like I am in my last year, it is not like there is any panic. I am calm, I love the manager at Bayern and as long as we are improving and I am improving then I am happy to see what we can achieve.”
Kane has already outscored players like Kylian Mbappe and Haaland this season and has broken the Bundesliga record by netting 11 goals in the first six league games.
What did Kane say about the prospect of returning to Premier League?
Kane moved to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2023 and since then he has been a fan favourite for the Bavarians at the Allianz Arena.
The 32-year-old also won the Bundesliga last season which was his first major trophy in his career and now he is hungry to win more accolades with this Bayern Munich led by Kompany.
There are reports of him moving back to Premier League especially with the reported £57m ($76.6m) release clause present in his current contract which gets activated next summer.
Speaking about his potential Premier League return, Kane added, “In terms of the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.
“Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.”
Bayern Munich have no intentions of letting Kane leave as they believe that the 32-year-old is playing his best football right now.
Kane has shown great improvement under Kompany, and he recently highlighted how playing in a deeper role in Jamal Musiala’s absence has helped him score more goals.
Overall, he will be focused on delivering top performances for Bayern Munich this season which may allow them to win greater accolades while also setting himself up for the World Cup next year.
